Happy January!

After some marvellous singing leading up to Christmas, finishing with the Lambeth Palace Carol Service we start the new year with something slightly different. On January 20th TLS will sing once more at St George in the East for the 150th anniversary service of the Ritualism Riots. The St G website gives a detailed account of these extraordinary events (www.stgite.org.uk). The principal celebrant and preacher for this will be the Archbishop of Canterbury, so a bit of a home-from-home for TLS!

Music will include pieces by Tallis, Bairstow, Wood and Burgon as well as the very scrumptious setting of psalm 121 set by Barry Rose for the Queen's Silver Jubilee Service at St Paul's Cathedral in 1977.

Come along and hear us sing, hear the Archbishop preach and enjoy the fine hospitality of St George's congregation. Wednesday 20th January at 7.00pm. The church is a short walk form Shadwell DLR station and buses D3 and 100 pass close by.
